July 3 brings the opening of Thoughts Come Alive, a multi-layered exhibition where, beyond the artworks, the creators’ hidden selves are promised to surface. Painter Bence Zarubay opens the show at the Laffert Mansion (Laffert Kúria), with singer Kata Karácsonyi contributing. Entry is free, so expect a full house and buzzy conversations under the vaulted ceilings.
Two days later, on July 5, the 20th Song Afternoon (Daldélután) rolls in, continuing a local tradition of vocal afternoons in Dunaharaszti, spotlighting beloved melodies and community singing that blend sentiment with skill.
Pink Floyd under the stars
On July 18, Keep Floyding: The Grand Vizier’s Garden Party turns the Laffert Mansion (Laffert Kúria) courtyard into a seated, open-air homage to pure live sound. No overthinking—just Pink Floyd masterpieces, clean and muscular, lifted by the venue’s acoustics and the night sky. Comfortable seating, big feelings, and a setlist built for goosebumps.
August: Disco royalty, heatwave hilarity
August 1 doubles down with ABBA – BONEY M. SHOW, staged by three powerhouse divas: Enikő Détár, Nelly Fésűs, and Judit Ladinek. The ’70s and ’80s disco anthems become a full live-band spectacle at the Outdoor Stage by the Laffert Mansion (Laffert Kúria). Tickets range from about 20.5 USD to 23.8 USD. On August 7, Heatwave – A Musical Comedy (Hőhullám – Zenés vígjáték) lands at the same Outdoor Stage, tickets again 20.5–23.8 USD. On August 28, Disney Picnic charms families as actors Brigitta Zámbó and Zsolt Szaszák weave songs, heroes, princesses, schemers, and a pinch of magic into a concert-quiz hybrid that tugs at kids’ and adults’ hearts alike.
Politics, punchlines, and autumn glow
August 30 fires off Lend Me Your Wife! (Add kölcsön a feleséged!), a two-act farce where a minister eyeing the prime minister’s chair faces a blackmailing MP, Bouladon, who demands a week in the Cape Verde Islands with the minister’s wife—or secrets will spill. Bribes, a lusty stand-in, and miles of entanglement follow. Does anyone fly to the islands? Does the appointment happen? The comedy keeps the answer until the curtain call.
October 21 welcomes The Magic of Cheerfulness – SOMA Mamagésa, a talk about nurturing inner peace and joy even as the world wobbles. And on November 21, the calendar closes with Pig Slaughter and Ball (Disznóvágás és bál)—hearty, communal, unmistakably Hungarian.
