Eger is rolling out a full-throttle week of concerts, talks, festivals, screenings, exhibitions, markets, and family adventures across multiple venues from May 4 to May 10, 2026. From rockabilly and organ recitals to cat shows and vineyard walks, the city keeps every age busy and entertained.
Wine, Walks, Talks
Start midweek with the Kadarka Vineyard Hike & Wine Tasting, a roving discovery of Egerâs signature grape at its source among the vines. On May 6, two brain-tickling talks arrive: Dr. Barbara Szentgyörgyi unpacks the gutâbrainâimmuneâhormone axis at a Nyitott AkadĂ©mia (Open Academy) evening, while psychologist SĂĄndor Bekeâs Narcissism: In the Trap of the Mirror is free with registration.
Big Screen Adrenaline
Action fans get a pre-premiere screening of Mortal Kombat on May 6. In this brutal, high-stakes tournament, even winners can die, and a reluctant, washed-up Hollywood actor named Johnny Cage gets dragged onto the stage with the old champions for a decisive showdown of light vs. darkness.
Family Days in the GĂĄrdonyi Garden
The IstvĂĄn DobĂł Castle Museum reprises its popular family programs on May 6 and May 10 at the GĂĄrdonyi House. Expect storytelling, hands-on crafts, and offbeat guided tours spotlighting GĂ©za GĂĄrdonyiâs legacy and the joy of reading.
