Gyula’s Summer Promenade (Korzó) Festival is back for 2025, painting the historic city center with 40 days of free concerts, workshops, dance performances, and much more. Spread across four of the city’s most popular downtown spots, this event-packed summer promises something for everyone—tourists and locals alike. Kicking off on July 30 and running through August 30, it’s an invitation to dive into Gyula’s creative scene almost every single day.
A Whirlwind of Culture and Music
The festival starts on July 30, drawing crowds to Harruckern Square with a showcase from the Bellyboa Belly Dance School. Over the weeks, Saint Nicholas Park (Szent Miklós Park) hosts piano concerts such as “One Woman’s Scent” by Krisztián Vozár M., while Rondella Terrace transforms into everything from a disco dance floor to a rock arena, with acts like Disco Drama, The Pepper Shop, and tributes to Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine.
More intimate events also take place at the World Clock (Világóra), where everything from the folk band Téglás to the Double T Band give live concerts. Every Thursday features hands-on painting sessions with artists from the Dezső József Creative Camp Association (József Dezső Creative Camp Association), accompanied by a photo exhibit celebrating 40 years of the Aladár Székely Photo Club (Székely Aladár Photo Club).
Plenty for Every Taste
Expect live performances from FitDance Center and the Castle Guards Dance Group (Végvár Dance Group), as well as shows by seniors and talented local youth. The Pro Musica Wind Quintet sets the mood with movie soundtrack hits, while handpan artist Zsolt Király brings a mystical atmosphere. Pop, rock, Latin, blues, and acoustic acts appear nightly, with new headliners nearly every day.
Closing with a Bang
The festivities wrap up with street parties, DJ sets, and the popular PowerBeat Percussion Group lighting up Rondella Terrace. Note: organizers may change times or programs at any time. Fill your calendar and soak up every moment.
