On Sunday, May 10, Europe Day returns to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Hungary’s EU membership with free programs across the city. The EU Half Marathon anchors the day, but it’s far from just a runners’ fest: concerts, family activities, EU-themed quizzes, and creative workshops keep the energy high from morning to evening.
Main Stage, Kids’ Magic
Crowds can catch Hiperkarma, Elefánt, and Budai Pop Duo on the main stage, while the kids’ stage features the Bubble Band (Buborék Együttes), Majorka Theater (Majorka Színház), and a musical literary show by Dániel Varró. Expect a lively, open-air vibe designed for all ages, from stroller squads to late-afternoon music hunters.
City Picnic, Daytime Vibes
The city’s first big spring picnic lands on May 1 under the leafy canopy of City Park (Városliget). Think daytime lounging, hands-on workshops, a fleet of stellar food trucks, and a design market to browse between bites. Come for the sunshine and stay for the buzz that makes Budapest feel unstoppable.
