Celebrate Europe Day and the 22nd anniversary of Hungary’s EU accession on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Budapest’s Liberty Square (Szabadság tér) in District V. Expect a big, free festival packed with concerts, kids’ programs, games, and the city’s favorite community run. Stay after the race and make a day of it in Belváros-Lipótváros.
EU Half Marathon
The EU Half Marathon returns with the motto “Our Road Is Europe.” Organizers have ended the tradition of increasing the distance with each membership year and set the course at the classic 13.1 miles—a sweet spot for challenge and shared joy. A total of 2,000 individual runners and 700 teams (two- or three-person) can enter. Registration is open until capacity is reached or until May 4, 2026, 5:00 p.m., whichever comes first. Participation is free. Note the key change: pick up bibs in advance at the Europe Experience Center, 1052 Budapest, Szervita tér 8.
