October 19, 2025 marks the return of TerraPlaza to Budapest (Budapest), the largest exotic pet expo in Hungary and one of Central Europe’s biggest gatherings for lovers of everything scaly, feathery, and fishy. Hosted at the sprawling Lurdy Conference and Events Center (Lurdy Konferencia- és Rendezvényközpont), this 26,900-square-foot (2,600 m²) show brings together over 100 exhibitors from Hungary and abroad, along with several thousand visitors, for a day that’s every terrarium keeper’s and aquarium enthusiast’s dream.

A Living, Breathing Expo

TerraPlaza goes far beyond cages and glass tanks. It’s equal parts community festival, hobbyist convention, and lifestyle statement for a rapidly growing tribe of reptile, amphibian, invertebrate, and exotic fish lovers. For some, it’s a whirlwind two-hour tour; for the truly passionate, it’s an all-day adventure spent chatting with experts, discovering the latest species, and picking up tips on care, breeding, and trends—straight from the breeders themselves.

Meet the Community

Every TerraPlaza is a different experience, but everyone walks away having learned something new about the astonishing diversity of the animal kingdom. Exhibitors showcase their rarest new morphs, visitors share tips and stories, and breeders reveal firsthand knowledge you just can’t find online. There’s a contagious buzz of shared excitement—for nature, for science, for the unusual pets that bring this crowd together.

Beyond just shopping or gawking, it’s a place to belong: over 40,000 people consider themselves part of the TerraPlaza community. It’s fun and serious at the same time. Nature conservation talks and animal welfare presentations, plus a team of on-site vets, ensure every animal on display is well cared for and legally permitted.

More Than Just Terrariums

What started as a reptile show now embraces the world of aquariums too—making TerraPlaza the hotspot for both fish fans and snake lovers. You can buy pets directly from specialist breeders (always well-fed, healthy, and with all paperwork in order), often at friendlier prices than pet shops offer. Families are welcome (kids under six get in free), and there are programs for both amateurs and professionals.

TerraPlaza runs from 10 AM to 5 PM, with tickets available both online and at the door. Latecomers can score a $4 ticket after 4 PM. Can’t make it in October? More shows are lined up in Budapest (Budapest) for December 7, February 15, April 19, June 14, October 18, and December 6, 2026. Dive into Hungary’s wildest pet crowd!
