November 20, Thursday, 4:30 PM — We’re Not Afraid of the Wolf!

GRIMASZ Színház presents an interactive puppet show where the persistent wolf just won’t give up, and the three little pigs must outsmart him. Expect lots of audience giggles and a chance for kids to join in.
Venue: BRTK Library, children’s section
Admission: free

November 22, Saturday, 10:30 AM — Mazsola and Tádé (musical puppet show)

A beloved classic comes to life with Ametist Bábszínház at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center, Fő tér 2. This is the tale many parents and grandparents grew up with: the scatterbrained little piglet whose joys and sorrows feel familiar, and Manócska, whose warm, wise words somehow untangle every problem—and may even offer a few gentle hints for parenting’s trickier moments.
Generations still remember the pumpkin house from TV. If you do too, here’s your chance to introduce Mazsola, Manócska, Tádé, and friends to your kids or grandkids.

December 12, Friday, 10:00 AM — Süsü, the Dragon (musical fairy play, 2 acts)

Hadart Színház presents a full-stage production of István Csukás and István Bergendy’s Süsü, a gentle, one-headed dragon who’s banished by his fearsome three-headed father and forced to leave the dragon realm. At first everyone’s scared of Süsü, but soon he befriends a wandering prince—and eventually both find a new home at the royal court.
You’ll also meet the melancholy princess waiting for a prince to arrive, the caring nurse, an always-shivering king, and the gloriously inept mercenaries. The show features a self-rotating, large-scale set, the officially approved two-meter-tall Süsü, and original music newly re-orchestrated.

December 16, 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM — The Grinch (one act)

Pesti Művész Színház arrives with a funny, heartwarming spin on the green, grouchy loner on Kobak Mountain whose only friend is his loyal dog, Max. His gadget-stuffed cave keeps him comfortable—and far from the increasingly loud Christmas cheer down in Kifalva. When the Who-like townsfolk announce Christmas will be three times bigger this year, the Grinch decides there’s only one way to restore silence: steal it all.
He disguises himself as Santa and even ropes in a whiny reindeer to haul his sleigh. Meanwhile, Cindy-Lou Ki, bursting with Christmas joy, plans with her friends to catch Santa and thank him for helping her overworked mom. As Christmas nears, her good intentions are on a collision course with the Grinch’s scheming.
Performances: 10:00 AM (Kisvakond pass), 2:00 PM (Csimota pass)
Venue: Kálmán Imre Cultural Center, theater hall

December 20, Saturday, 2:00 PM — Pablo and Picasso, or The Carnival of the Animals (family musical)

Pannon Várszínház stages a big-hearted family musical for the adventurous and the rule breakers. One hero is Pablo, a rhinoceros. The other is a boy gifted at drawing, nicknamed Picasso at school. They’re bound by a shared sense of something missing—perhaps love, acceptance, and the power of imagination. Together they tumble through adventures across human and animal communities, find new friends, and voice a common wish. Kids, animals, and plants join forces to build a bridge to a world where every form of life has value.
