The Goldmark Károly Cultural Center in Keszthely has a whole season of cheerful, hands-on family time lined up, and it’s all about the tiniest cultural explorers. From January through July 2026, the center rolls out a weekly series tailor-made for babies and toddlers with their grown-ups, serving music, rhythm, and play that’s as warming as a mid-morning sunbeam.
Kerekítő every Wednesday
The staple is Kerekítő Mondókázó, a beloved Wednesday meet-up at 9:30 a.m. in the GKMKK Grand Hall. It’s designed for ages 0–3 and led by Attila Zólyomi, who brings a gentle whirlwind of puppet play, live instruments, songs, and Hungarian nursery rhymes. The rhythm games and call-and-response ditties are welcoming for pre-talkers and chatterboxes alike, while the puppet moments keep eyes wide and attention anchored. Parents and caregivers get a social breather and new ideas for everyday music time at home.
Dates you can count on
Mark the calendar: January 21 and 28; February 4, 11, 18, and 25; March 4, 11, 18, and 25; April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29; May 6, 13, 20, and 27; June 3, 10, 17, and 24; and July 1. Same place, same time, same toddler-happy vibe. The repetition is a feature, not a bug—little ones thrive on routine—so the weekly slot helps build comfort, confidence, and memory from one session to the next.
What to expect
Sessions blend movement, lap games, and soft-voiced tunes with simple instrumental textures. Think shakers, gentle drums, and playful claps guiding pulse and phrasing. The nursery rhymes cue body awareness—hands, feet, nose—while the puppet character at the heart of Kerekítő stitches the set into a cozy story world. The room setup favors floor time, eye contact, and a circle that makes it easy to follow along.
Why it works
For newborns to three-year-olds, beat, rhyme, and repetition are rocket fuel for language and social growth. Kerekítő’s folk-rooted material slides naturally into daily routines—getting dressed, bath time, bedtime—so families leave with a toolkit, not just a memory. And yes, adults end up humming too.
Before you go
It’s Keszthely, it’s Wednesday, it’s 9:30 a.m., and it’s the GKMKK Grand Hall. The organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs, so a quick check-in before each visit is smart. Bring comfy clothes, a small water bottle if you like, and your curiosity. The rest—music, puppets, and a warmly buzzing room—await.
