Fehérvárcsurgó’s Károlyi Castle rolls out a full 2026 with festivals, concerts, exhibitions, themed days, and fairs. The neoclassical landmark, built in 1844, welcomes guests with 20 rooms, a library, chapel, conference halls, and a restaurant. Its salons host everything from small team trainings and meetings to major conferences, colloquia, receptions, exhibitions, weddings, and family events—wrapped in attentive, warm, made-to-measure hospitality.
Winter Walks, Fairy Tales, Glass Art
January opens with a Botanical Walk in the castle park on January 18. On January 31, children gather for Story Hour with Éva Fazekas at the Visitor Center. From February 13 to 28, Pál Kálmán’s glass sculptures take over the Visitor Center, while another Botanical Walk fills February 15.
Art, Piano, Soprano
March 10 brings The Land of Imagination – in Pictures and Music: an exhibition by Sylvia Sass, with a concert by pianist Balázs Fülei and soprano Mariana Pires. Another Botanical Walk follows on March 15. On March 20–21, an international conference debates The Judgment of Religion During the Building and Enlargement of the EU.
Spring Music and Baroque Dialogues
April 11 features an Easter Concert with the Hangellika Choir in the chapel. On April 18, Sonates à deux – a German–French dialogue of Bach, Schaffrath, and Boismortier – spotlights Mónika Kecskés on harpsichord and Baroque instruments. A Botanical Walk returns on April 19.
European Identity, Garden Days
From May 9–15, Writers of European Self-Awareness is on exhibit at the Visitor Center, followed by a Botanical Walk on May 17. June 5–7 stages the 22nd European Ornamental Plant and Garden Art Days with exhibition and fair. June 21 adds another park walk.
Summer Scores and Academy
On July 17, the Voice & Brass Band performs film music outdoors on the island in the castle park, followed by a Botanical Walk on July 19. August 9–16 hosts the ECHO Summer Music Academy and concerts, with a park walk on August 16.
Quartets, Heritage, and Crafts
Autumn begins with a Botanical Walk on September 20, then the Quartettissimo XVII European String Quartet Festival on September 25–27. October 16–17 brings a Heritage Protection Conference co-organized with the University of Pécs (Pécsi Tudományegyetem), followed by a Choir and Organ Concert with Gabriella Semjénné Menus in the chapel on October 17 and a walk on October 18. November 13–15 showcases Fresh Harvest, the 10th Contemporary Applied Arts Salon and Fair, and November 14 presents the traditional St. Elizabeth’s Day candlelit concert. A Botanical Walk on November 15 leads into the year’s final park stroll on December 20.
Stay, Dine, Unwind
Expect a cordial welcome, calm surroundings, and aristocratic elegance across the 124-acre castle park. Rooms span the north and south wings, named after members of the count’s family and the gems of the Bakony (Bakony). The kitchen serves Hungarian and French specialties with plated, platter, and buffet service.
