Fehérvárcsurgó’s stately Károlyi Castle rolls out a packed 2026 calendar at 8052 Petőfi Street (Petőfi utca) 2, serving up high-caliber culture in one of Fejér County’s jewels. The aristocratic, neoclassical mansion welcomes guests with programs that fit the setting, from exhibitions and concerts to garden walks and festivals, set across a serene 124-acre park.
Spring Highlights
From April 18 to May 5, the temporary exhibition “Évszakokon át” showcases painter Tibor Villásek. On April 26, the 7th European Day of Historic Gardens celebrates heritage landscapes. May 9 brings “Up the Secret Staircase!”—a playful library program—followed by May 9–15’s “The Writers of European Consciousness” exhibition at the Visitor Center. A guided botanical walk explores the castle park on May 17.
Summer in Full Bloom
June 5–7 marks the 22nd European Ornamental Plant and Garden Art Days, a major exhibition and fair. More botanical walks are set for June 21 and July 19. On July 17, the Voice & Brass Band performs iconic film music under the stars on the island in the castle park. August 9–16 hosts the ECHO Summer Music Academy and concerts, with a further botanical walk on August 16.
Autumn to Winter Lineup
A park walk returns September 20, then September 25–27 brings “Quartettissimo,” the 17th European String Quartet Festival. The “Up the Secret Staircase!” library adventure is back October 3 and November 7, plus December 5. October 16–17 features a heritage protection conference co-organized with the University of Pécs, followed by an October 17 chapel concert with choir and organ by Gabriella Semjénné Menus. More botanical strolls arrive October 18, November 15, and December 20. November 13–15 hosts “Fresh Harvest,” the 10th Contemporary Applied Arts Salon & Fair, and November 14’s traditional candlelit St. Elizabeth’s Day concert glows warmly.
Expect a warm welcome, calm surroundings, and aristocratic elegance. Rooms occupy the castle’s north and south wings, named for the count’s family and the gems of the Bakony (Bakony). The kitchen serves Hungarian and French specialties à la carte, on platters, and buffet-style. Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs.
