Get ready for a splashy debut: the first-ever Mártély (Mártély) Fish Festival lands on October 18, 2025, at the scenic shores of Mártély’s (Mártély) oxbow lake, hosted by the Bertalan Bodnár Environmental Education Center (Bodnár Bertalan Environmental Education Center).
Nonstop Fun from Morning to Night
Starting at 10 a.m., the festival buzzes with activity. Artisans from the region set up shop with unique, handmade treasures, turning the area into a lively craft market. Kids can take on an interactive, eight-stop obstacle course, open until 3 p.m., while adults explore the rest of the festivities.
Stage Magic, Sausage, and More
The day features a fish sausage workshop, offered at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., plus a theatrical adventure from Grimmbusz Theater (Grimmbusz Színház) at 11:30 a.m. Comedian Balázs Beliczai takes the stage at 2 p.m. Prize announcements begin at 3 p.m., followed by a ceremonial fish release at 3:40 p.m. The music keeps rolling with a performance by the Katica Lajtai and Bálint Berkes duo at 4 p.m., then a burst of folk from the Kankalin Dance Ensemble (Kankalin Táncegyüttes) and Csürhe Band (Csürhe Banda). The festivities wrap up at 6 p.m.
