If you love Latin vibes, here’s your chance! Salsa and Bachata classes are coming to Gyomaendrőd. These easy-to-learn dances promise quick success, even after just one lesson, and use today’s hits and popular songs to get you moving. The Kállai Ferenc Cultural Center (Kállai Ferenc Kulturális Központ) will host the first open class for free on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:30 PM. Classes run every Tuesday, including October 28, November 4, and November 11. The class is ideal for beginners looking for fun, exercise, and a taste of Latin passion. The kickoff event takes place at 9-11 Kossuth Lajos Street (Kossuth Lajos utca 9-11). There’s no pressure—just show up, dance, and see if these rhythms win you over.
Stay the Night: Student Dorms and Cozy Hotels
With 54 beds available in the local dormitory, students can choose between 2-, 3-, or 4-person rooms spread across two levels and a total of 16 rooms. Even better for groups, the campsite by the Triple Körös River (Hármas-Körös), just 328 feet from the Liget Bath (Liget Fürdő), features 11 heated wooden cabins (for 8 people each) and plenty of tent spaces. Yes, the site is fully accessible, nestled between the swimming complex and the riverbank, beneath shady acacia trees.
For a bit more comfort, the Hárs Thermal Hotel welcomes you with 22 pine-furnished rooms (for 2 or 3 guests), private bathrooms, TV, phone, and all the perks: thermal-water whirlpool and hydromassage pools, sauna, drink bar, and billiards. Located just a few minutes from both the city center and Liget Thermal Bath, it’s a calm retreat for up to 55 guests.
If a waterside stay is more your style, the Mezei Fishing Cottage (Mezei Horgászház) sits on the Soczó-zug backwater (Soczó-zugi holtág), 0.6 miles from downtown Gyomaendrőd, offering a unique riverside atmosphere. Meanwhile, in the garden district, a stylishly renovated fully equipped two-bedroom apartment along the main road sleeps six, and provides every modern convenience—central heating, A/C, separate bathroom, kitchen, and Wi-Fi.
At Pájer Camping, located on the peaceful banks of one of the Körös’s oxbows in northern Békés County, quiet and nature reign. Their slogan says it all: Even tranquility comes here to rest! Or try the city center’s Pavilon Guesthouse (Pavilon Panzió), nestled in Erzsébet Liget (Elisabeth Grove), the city’s green heart, with eight fully renovated double rooms, a landscaped garden, closed parking, and three-star hospitality throughout. On the city’s outskirts, a luxurious 16,000 sq. ft. former dormitory surrounded by silver firs now pampers guests in the middle of a two-hectare park.
Dine and Play: Food and Fun in Gyomaendrőd

It’s air-conditioned, and you’ll also find a two-lane automatic bowling alley, classic and pool billiards, plus foosball for after-dinner fun.
There’s a cozy eatery offering local specialties and fish on a quiet street near the main square, just a three-minute stroll from the thermal baths. For guests at the Körös Guesthouse (Körös Vendégház)—right in the town center and minutes from Liget Spa (Liget Gyógyfürdő)—there’s something for everyone: solo travelers, business guests, families, and tour groups. And if luxury is on your mind, the exclusive three-star lodge just outside town, set in that two-hectare park, is ready to host your next peaceful escape.
