Budapest’s Palace of Wonders throws its doors wide on Fridays, inviting families, friends, and curious minds to lose themselves among 250 interactive games and brain-twisting installations. Tucked at 1036, 24 Mátyás Király Road (Mátyás király út), it’s the kind of place where kids, teens, parents, and grandparents all pick favorites, spark friendly rivalries, and leave with stories you’ll still be laughing about days later. Activities are designed for ages 3 and up, and a visit often uncovers hidden skills you didn’t know you had—then dares you to test them.
Adventure Around Every Corner
Anything can happen here. Climb into a weird-wheeled car and find out if it actually rattles. Brave the Mirror Maze. Swap faces with each other. Shake your own hand with one hand. Park yourselves in a Moon Rover. Snap selfies with the greatest scientists. Multiply into a crowd inside the Giant Kaleidoscope. Stand at the center of infinity in the Mirror Room. Outfox tricky logic challenges. See who among you is the boldest fakir. Walk on air with the Flying Reflection. Spin a vortex. Try air basketball. Then catch four daily shows on the Öveges Stage that turn physics into pure theater. At the Gedeon Richter Lab (Richter Gedeon Labor), suit up with coat and goggles and run real experiments that whirl, fizz, and pop. And that’s just the start—there are wonders around every corner.
Make It a Day
Play like kids again, together. Plan for 3–4 carefree hours—or let a whole day vanish in the best way.
Friday Stage Schedule
On Fridays, time your visit to catch the science shows that light up the Öveges Stage:
11:00 Bubble Show — What is a bubble, and why is it round? How big can they get? Why can a pond skater stand on water? Learn bubble physics, see giant bubbles, discover why some glow, and get the secret formula for a perfect bubble mix.
13:00 Spectacular Science — Peak spectacle and suspense. The presenter unleashes favorite physics experiments where the raw laws of nature take the spotlight.
15:00 Gedeon Richter Science Show — Physics and chemistry collide in a high-energy lineup of the presenter’s most dramatic experiments.
17:00 Glowing Stage — Hot moments for the youngest audiences too: playful, fiery demos exploring heat and flames. Do not try these at home.
