If you want to savor the last drops of summer next year, head to Villány for its signature series, “If It’s Friday, It’s Villány!” Returning for its fourth season in 2025, the town, dubbed the capital of Hungarian wine, transforms into a hub of music, wine, and unbeatable good vibes every Friday night.

A Symphony of Wine and Entertainment

Villány is not just about amazing reds—this event series brilliantly blends wine tourism, gastronomy, culture, and entertainment into a single, unmissable experience. Visitors can hop from one open-air concert to the next, sample the region’s award-winning wines, dive into unique food experiences, and enjoy a broad lineup of programs: from contemporary music to family activities, heritage celebrations, and multicultural showcases.

The Friday night gatherings give festival-goers an up-close look at the Villány wine region, the people behind the vineyards, and the mouthwatering local cuisine. Add a lineup of fun-filled activities and vibrant community events, and you have a festival set in a picturesque landscape where everyone finds their groove—whether you’re a die-hard oenophile or just there for the party.

This Summer’s Grand Finale: György Korda & Klári Balázs Live

On August 15, 2025, the final bash of the series brings back the legendary duo György Korda and Klári Balázs (Korda György & Balázs Klári) for a spectacular encore after last year’s phenomenal show. Their decades-long career, timeless hits, and unmatched style promise a night where the whole crowd will join in for classics like Reptér (Airport), Mamma Maria, and Találd ki gyorsan a gondolatom (Guess My Thoughts Fast).

The evening also features Moriones, whose smash hit Ez az ára (This is the Price) has racked up over 10 million YouTube views, and the night wraps with a massive party set from DJ Laca at the Event Square (Rendezvénytér).

Tickets & Entry

Early bird tickets are $11 each, discounted advance tickets are $14, and standard advance passes are priced at $17. Add a $1.25 online admin fee per ticket. Kids under 12 and residents of Villány (with proof of address) get in free.

Mark your calendars for August 15—Sing, dance, sip, and celebrate the best of Villány!

Where to Stay: Something for Every Taste

Want to stay overnight (or longer)? Villány has you covered with a wide selection of guesthouses and hotels, each offering its own style of hospitality.

Antlers Guesthouse (Agancsos Panzió) offers six guest rooms over two floors, each with en-suite bathroom, TV, safe, mini-bar, and WiFi. Three rooms have extra beds, and one is fully accessible. Breakfast is included, with dinner and wine tastings available upon request.

Anonymous Guesthouse (Anonim Vendégház) is set in one of the quietest, greenest corners of Villány near Church Hill (Templom-hegy), right beside a protected nature area and the former Teleki mansion. The house is divided into two separate, private apartments—rentable together or separately.

Blum Cellar – Wine Bar Guesthouse (Blum Pince – Borozó Vendégház) is ideal for families and friends, located right on Villány’s cellar row and radiating Mediterranean warmth. Drop by for group or solo wine tastings in the Villánykövesd (Villánykövesd) cellar. Their wine terrace includes an oven for whole roast pig, adding a festive touch to the tasting experience.

Nearby, the Bock Winery (Bock Borászat) cellar complex is a highlight for both wine lovers and foodies. In addition to celebrated tastings, guests can tour the winemaking process, dine at the Bock Old Wine Restaurant (Bock Óbor Restaurant), or relax at the four-star Bock Hotel Ermitage in the heart of Villány. The Crocus Gere Wine Hotel Resort & Wine Spa (Crocus Gere Bor Hotel Resort & Wine Spa) combines wellness and excellent wine for a luxurious stay.

Vineyards, Wine Bars & Cellar Rows—Heaven for Wine Lovers

The 7773 wine bar stands out for offering only the finest selections from the Villány region, handpicked by passionate experts. Whatever the occasion—weddings, themed evenings, or business conferences—the setting is as unforgettable as the wine itself.

Villány’s winemaking families share a deep love of nature and tradition, often cultivating their own classic Hungarian varietals: Italian Riesling (olaszrizling), Portugieser (portugieser), Blaufränkisch (kékfrankos), Cabernet Franc (cabernet franc), Cabernet Sauvignon (cabernet sauvignon), Merlot (merlot), and Pinot Noir (pinot noir). At Antlers Winery (Agancsos Winery), wild game dishes and homemade platters complement the wine; Péter Bakonyi (Bakonyi Péter) and Josef Kerl farm five hectares of organic vines; and Attila Gere Family Winery (Gere Attila Family Winery) proudly cultivates all its grapes organically.

For a touch more folklore, the Villány Wine Order (Villány Bor Rend), founded in 1988, keeps the heritage alive and ensures that everyone can discover the pleasures that only Villány wines can offer.

Explore, Savor, and Unplug

Villány’s rustic, welcoming spirit shines through every guesthouse and winery. Many places are pet- and family-friendly, with shaded lawns for BBQs, swings for kids, and secure on-site parking.

Keep in mind, organizers reserve the right to adjust the date and schedule—but with Villány’s endless possibilities, there’s always something to toast!
