The Historical Playhouse in Keszthely is your family’s main event in late August, where history blends with fun and interactive games. Located on Vienna Gate (Bécsi Kapu) Street, the park’s southern wing hosts two craft rooms, welcoming kindergarteners and school groups for hands-on activities. Kids will love the “This Is What Cows Are Like” (Ilyenek a tehenek) exhibition spread across three rooms, offering everything you ever wanted to know about cows, milk, and dairy products—cleverly disguised as games.
The centerpiece? A massive 2,174-square-foot playhouse that celebrates the region’s Festetics family heritage. Boys and girls each get themed rooms. As a nod to the family’s shipbuilding roots, the playhouse includes a full-size ship, complete with a slide, climbing spots, and a drawing desk. Dedicated animators deliver daily creative and interactive family programs, promising excitement for kids aged 2 to 10—boredom simply isn’t on the schedule.
Theme Days Mean No Two Visits Are the Same
Monday kicks off with slide projector fairy tales—kids pick the stories at 10 AM and 3 PM. Tuesday is all about board games, logic puzzles, and skill-building fun. On Wednesday, animators transform little faces with sparkly tattoos and face painting inspired by favorite characters.
Thursday’s lively animal quiz day gets young minds buzzing. Friday features a treasure hunt both indoors and outdoors. Saturday’s UNO Party lets card sharks show off. Sunday goes eco-friendly with Green Day, crafting from recycled materials using napkin techniques and stone painting.
Slides, crafts, and stacks of games await all week!
