The Vác Lecsó Festival (Váci Lecsófesztivál) in the picturesque Danube Bend is back for its 21st edition on September 6, 2025, taking over the city’s historic baroque main square. Here, teams will be stirring up Hungary’s beloved summer stew, lecsó, in giant kettles, filling the entire square with irresistible aromas and lively competition.
Program Highlights
Festivities kick off early: teams can register and choose their cooking spots from 8:00 AM. After an official welcome and parade at 9:30 AM, the competition begins. The event’s host, Nikolett Fábián, will greet guests at 10:00 AM, joined by István Fónagy from the local hospitality association.
By 11:00 AM, enjoy live music with Péter Huygyez and Peat-R Dance, followed by folk songs for lecsó fans at noon, performed by Szilvia Faludi and Mátyás Smith. After sponsor acknowledgments and a special performance by artist Tamás Toldi, the results will be announced at 4:00 PM and the festivities will close with hits from award-winning singer Magdaléna Mezei (Zámbó Jimmy).
