After the founding of the Gregorian Society, it became clear that a choir was needed to promote the teaching, dissemination, and reintegration of Gregorian chant into the liturgy. This led to the creation of the Schola Gregoriana Budapestiensis in 1994, dedicated to making these goals a reality.
Gregorian Mass on October 28
On October 28, the feast of Saints Simon and Jude Thaddeus, a special Gregorian Mass will be held at the Franciscan Church in Pest (Ferenciek Square 9.), starting at 6:30 PM. The Mass will feature classic chants: “In. Iudicant sancti” (GrNov II,143), “Gr. Constitues” (GrNov II,144), “Al. Nimis honorati” (GrNov II,148), “Of. In omnem terram” (GrNov II,152), and “Co. Ego vos elegi” (GrNov I,208). The mass setting will be the Fourth Gregorian Mass, including the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei.
