Budapest’s Gregorian Mass series is back, anchored by Schola Gregoriana of Budapest (Schola Gregoriana Budapestiensis), the ensemble formed in 1994 after the Gregorian Society launched with a mission to teach, promote, and restore Gregorian chant in the liturgy. The choir was created to put those goals into practice, and it’s been doing exactly that ever since.

Weekly Tuesday Evenings

From September to June, every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the group serves at a Gregorian Mass at the Franciscan Church in Pest (Pesti Ferencesek) on Ferenciek Square (Ferenciek tere) in District V (Belváros–Lipótváros). The services are led by Attila Sztankó and bring ancient chant into the rhythm of city life. Upcoming dates include May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26, 2026, all in Budapest, with Ferenciek Square (Ferenciek tere) and other nearby venues hosting related events.
