The 16th Gyomaendrőd Pig-Slaughter Feast and János Tímár Butcher’s Pálinka Memorial Competition (XVI. Gyomaendrődi Disznótoros és Tímár János Böllérpálinka Emlékverseny) returns on 2025.11.22. Cooks and butchers who pour heart and soul into classic pork-feast staples—roasted sausage (sült kolbász), blood and liver sausage (hurka), pork-and-sauerkraut stew (toros káposzta), and more—compete and serve. The market features local sausage, cracklings, and smoked meats. Food stalls dish out traditional plates like onion-fried blood (hagymás vér), “cigánka” blood dish (cigánka), and roast meats (pecsenye) for anyone chasing authentic flavors.
