Gyomaendrőd is packing late 2025 with talks, tastings, films, dance, and full-on Advent spirit. It kicks off November 19 with “TVRTKO Around the World,” where globetrotting reporter Vujity Tvrtko lands with a night of wild stories, optimism, and the stubborn belief that nothing’s impossible. The “Beyond All Borders” vibe continues at the Ferenc Kállai Cultural Center (Kállai Ferenc Művelődési Központ), promising tales and motivation from every corner of the Earth.
Crafts, Creatures, and TV Royalty
November 21 brings “This Is How We Prepare” — an Advent craft market at the Győző Határ City Library (Határ Győző Városi Könyvtár), followed the same day by “Magical Nature – Exotic Animals Exhibition” at the Ferenc Kállai Integrated Cultural Institution and Cultural House (Kállai Ferenc Integrált Kulturális Intézmény és Közösségi Ház), open 4:00–6:00 p.m. On November 22, TV icon Judit Endrei hosts a meet-and-greet in town, and the 16th Gyomaendrőd Pig-Slaughter Feast and János Tímár Butcher’s Pálinka Memorial Contest gets cooking. Expect soulful teams competing with essentials like fried sausage, blood-and-rice sausage, pork with sauerkraut, and all the old-school dishes. The market piles on local sausage, cracklings, and smoked meats; catering covers oniony blood sausage, cigánka, and roast meats for serious food lovers.
Talks, Therapy, and Latin Nights
On November 23, OMart Bookstore and Cultural Workshop hosts another audience event with Judit Endrei at 3 p.m. November 24 brings the cheeky “XMAS Rehab, or There’s No Christmas Without Stress” at the city library at 5 p.m., because yes, we all need it. Latin fever arrives November 25 with Salsa & Bachata classes in Gyomaendrőd: an easy, feel-good course promising wins from day one to today’s hits. Ladies are advised to come with a partner. The film series for the Kállai 100 Memorial Year screens “Megint tanú” on November 27 at the Ferenc Kállai Cultural House (Kállai Ferenc Művelődési Ház).

At 11 a.m., Frozen comes alive with a musical, interactive kids’ show; 3 p.m. brings “Christmas Angels,” a musical performance by Adrienn Várnai and Adél Mészáros; and at 4 p.m. reflections from Reformed pastor Tibor Papp.
