Győr keeps its cultural engine running year-round with a stacked lineup of concerts, theater, kids’ shows, hands-on workshops, festivals, museum programs, and sports. The city is packed with historic architecture, home to top-notch artists and internationally acclaimed ensembles, and it even hosts the country’s most popular children’s festival. It’s also a great base for trips: hiking and day excursions abound both in and beyond the city limits.
November: Music, puppets, pastry, and a dash of comedy
November 22 starts with a Strudel-Making Workshop in Győr, while the Pannon Philharmonic shares the stage with the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra at Richter János Concert Hall. Tickets run from about $19 to $19. Vaskakas Puppetry Theatre fills the weekend, November 22–23, with shows priced roughly $6 to $35. From November 22 to 26 and again November 22 to 30, the Győr National Theatre rolls out productions with tickets around $8.50–$45.
On November 23, families can head to the House of Generations (Generációk Művelődési Háza) for Fireman Sam (Sam a tűzoltó) by Dörmögő Dömötör Theatre (Dörmögő Dömötör Színház); tickets are about $11.50. November 24 turns comic: I Messed That Up! (Ezt benéztem!) is Musimbe Dávid Dennis’s solo night, hosted by László Lovász at the Dumaszínház in the Molnár Vid Bertalan Cultural Center, $19–$21. A musical comedy, The Naked Truth (Meztelen igazság), hits Richter Concert and Conference Hall the same day, and there’s a second Strudel Workshop in town.
On November 26, Grandma (A nagymama) arrives at Richter Hall, tickets about $29. Boogie fans get their fix at the 17th Boogiefeszt on November 28–29, with entry roughly $9–$13. November 29 brings Romeo and Juliet – The Musical 2025 (Rómeó és Júlia – musical 2025) to Audi Arena (Audi Aréna), ticket range $26–$47. Vaskakas returns November 29–30 with more puppet magic, again around $6–$35.
December: From piano poetry to Christmas bustle
Pianist Misi Boros gives a recital December 1 at Richter Hall for roughly $19. Vaskakas shows continue December 2–8 ($6–$35), while the Győr National Theatre runs December 3–10 ($8.50–$45). Veres 1 Theatre (Veres 1 Színház) brings Steel Magnolias (Acélmagnóliák) to Richter Hall on December 5. December 6 sweetens things with a Santa-themed macaron course. On December 7, Sisi’s Christmas (Sisi karácsonya) fills the Győr National Theatre, tickets about $29–$34, and there’s a Christmas Bake-Box session for home bakers.
Singer Zorán’s 2025 tour stops December 9 at the Molnár Vid Bertalan Cultural Center, tickets roughly $40–$45. The Győr Philharmonic presents Shadow Play (Árnyjáték) on December 12 at Richter Hall for about $22. December 13 features traditional hand-pulled strudel in a hands-on workshop and another Vaskakas block December 13–21 ($6–$35). Lace up for Christmas Rush (Karácsonyi rohanás) on December 14: the 29th Horn Christmas Run adds a new 8 km to the classic 4 km and 12 km distances.

December 15 brings Nude with Violin (Akt, hegedűvel) to Art Színtér at Richter Hall, priced roughly $22–$26, and Our Nutcracker (A mi Diótörőnk), featuring 13 dance schools, plays December 15–16 on the National Theatre’s main stage ($13–$16). Rock act Akela hits Győr on December 20; the same day, Magnate Miska (Mágnás Miska) plays Richter Hall ($24–$32) and an Italian Pasta Workshop rolls out fresh dough. The Győr Philharmonic performs The Nutcracker (Diótörő) on December 21 at Richter Hall for about $19. Ring out the year on December 30 with the Aradi–Varga New Year’s Eve Show (Szilveszteri Aradi–Varga Show) at Richter Hall ($29–$31).
January: Farce season and flavor trips
Kick off 2026 on January 2 with Who’s Sleeping in My Bed?! (Nicsak, ki lakik itt?!) by Bánfalvy Stúdió at Richter Hall ($21–$26), followed by Ray Cooney’s Run for Your Wife (Páratlan páros) on January 3 ($21–$26), and Out of Order (A miniszter félrelép) on January 4 ($21–$24). The National Theatre runs January 3–11 and January 14–17 ($8.50–$45). Foodies can hit a Tapas Workshop January 8, an Indian Cooking Course January 10, a Strudel Workshop January 11, an Italian Pasta Workshop January 13, and a Mezze Workshop January 14.

February–March: Candlelit hits and symphonic heft
February 6 brings Harry Potter music by candlelight to the Győr Synagogue ($36). On February 7, Djabe & Steve Hackett present Freya Winter Shows at Richter Hall ($26–$39). Made in England with the Philharmonic plays February 13 ($19), the same night as Bridgerton by Candlelight at the Synagogue ($36). Then #MartinRajna (#RajnaMartin) shines on February 20 ($22), and Scheherazade (Seherezádé) on February 27 ($22). March 6 doubles up with The Music of Ludovico Einaudi Tribute at the Synagogue ($36) and Mahler 4 at Richter Hall ($22). Sieghart 75 follows on March 12 ($19), then Baroque Treasures (Barokk kincsek) on March 27 ($22) and Baroque Mosaic (Barokk mozaik) on March 28 ($19).
Spring finales and a dance juggernaut
Lord of the Dance’s 30th Anniversary Tour storms Audi Arena on March 31, tickets about $26–$58. Kalamáris /4 with poet Judit Ágnes Kiss (Kiss Judit Ágnes) is set for April 20 at Zichy Palace ($12).
