Győr’s Richter Hall is rolling out a packed roster of concerts, operettas, plays, and comedy nights for fans of quality entertainment in 2025 and 2026. Home to the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra (Győri Filharmonikus Zenekar) and named after world-famous conductor János Richter, the venue also boasts a modern, soundproof, air-conditioned rehearsal studio on the second floor: about 1,076 square feet, with striking lighting and sleek design. Michael Cooney’s Whirlwind Farce Returns
Michael Cooney: Nicsak, ki lakik itt?! (two-act farce) storms back with three dates: Saturday, December 27, 2025, 19:00; Friday, January 2, 2026, 19:00; and Sunday, April 12, 2026, 15:00. Translated and adapted by Benedek Albert, the 2018 Bánfalvy Stúdió hit has been revamped for 2025 by Benedek Albert, Oliver W. Horvath, and HCS. The setup is outrageous: a Hungarian Londoner, Róbert Szűcs, is drowning in benefits—unemployment, old-age pension, sick pay, family allowance, disability support, free cow’s milk—and a side hustle involving nursing bras that stokes his wife’s jealousy. Fearing exposure, he’d rather ditch his ill-gotten subsidies than his freedom or his marriage. But shedding benefits is far trickier than collecting them.
