Gyula never runs out of reasons to visit. The castle, open-air theater, and thermal spa anchor a year-round whirl of festivals, concerts, plays, exhibitions, tastings, family workshops, and night tours. As the cradle of pálinka and kolbász (sausage), the historic spa town reliably rolls out a standout event almost every month, while the Gyula Castle Spa (Gyulai Várfürdő) remains one of Hungary’s most beloved medicinal baths. From spring to autumn the Castle Theater (Várszínház) hosts festivals, but even off-season the castle and museums keep the pace brisk.
