Gyula’s downtown turns into a nightly stage all summer long as the Gyula Summer Promenade Festival 2026 brings 54 free cultural programs to four venues across 31 evenings. July 16 doubles up: grab brushes for open-air painting in Saint Nicholas Park (Szent Miklós Park), then settle in for Krisztián M. Vozár’s piano evening dedicated to film music. Sax fans should mark July 20 for Dominik Király’s Sax Life set.
On July 22, the Energy Dance Cool Dance School (Energy Dance Cool Tánciskola) hits the stage with a youth-camp-themed show. July 29 brings a triple bill: Gyula Body Shaping Aerobics (Gyula Alakformáló Aerobic) turns fitness into performance; the Alem Da Lemda Band plays a set; and Last Band closes the night with their program. The festival is big on community. On August 12, the 60+ Senior Dance Group takes the stage, proving age is no barrier to performance. Outdoor painting returns on August 27, alongside a full slate of concerts: Double T Band, Infinitate Ensemble, Pluto Vibe Band, and The Pepper Shop Band share the night. August 28 stays big with Too Much Band and the end-of-summer street ball at the Rondella, the historic bastion by the castle gardens. The grand finale on August 29 brings the PowerBeat Percussion Ensemble and another saxophone performance from Dominik Király.
