Few Hungarian towns keep the festival feeling alive after summer quite like Hajdúszoboszló, the spa capital of the Great Hungarian Plain (Alföld). While the healing hot springs and wellness centers remain the main attraction, this city refuses to hibernate. Its year-round calendar is packed with art exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, outdoor events, film nights, festivals, sports, and plenty of fun ways to spend your free time.
From Rock Shows to Pumpkin Parties
October kicks off with Ganxsta Zolee and Vilkó (Don Diavolos) and a creative art session. The October 23rd holiday brings a remembrance ceremony, paired with a Queen tribute concert. The city then hosts farmers’ markets and the lively Pávai Festival. Pumpkin takes center stage during “TÖKölős napok,” while art lovers can enjoy the Szoboszló Art Workshop’s autumn exhibition. Music events keep rolling with Bordó Sárkány and the Pataky Művek concert featuring Attila Pataky. Halloween brings nighttime bath parties in the Aqua-Palace, along with themed children’s activities.
Culture, Christmas, and a Taste of Wine
November brings health lectures with a Chinese twist, operettas, a Guns N’ Roses tribute, and a globe-trotting story night with TVRTKO. December promises festive night swimming, Santa’s visit, and a Christmas celebration at Aqua-Palace. The year ends with the noisy Szilveszteri Csergetés (New Year’s Eve Whip-Cracking), and even next September, a Wine and Gastrofest will return.
