Halász Judit is much more than a beloved actress—she’s a trailblazer who created an entire genre by turning Hungarian poetry into magical children’s songs. For nearly 30 years, her albums have been the soundtrack of countless Hungarian childhoods, all while gently nurturing a love of poetry and imparting valuable life lessons. Her fans, both young and grown, remember her as the nation’s first-ever Knight of the Smile Order (Mosoly-rend lovagja), chosen by the children themselves. In addition to performing, she’s a fixture at Budapest’s Vígszínház (Comedy Theatre) and serves on Hungary’s UNICEF board.
Classics, Concerts, and Celebrated Albums
Judit’s discography boasts 18 albums, with her latest release, A vitéz, a kalóz, meg a nagymama (“The Knight, the Pirate, and Grandma”), coming out in fall 2021, followed by a greatest hits album, Miénk a világ (“The World Is Ours”), in 2022. A full-length film concert was even produced, allowing fans to relive her hit-filled journey—especially the memorable Csiribiri concert, featuring highlights from her career.
