October 23: Family Detective Adventure â The Message of Freedom
Step into history and help retrace âThe Message of Freedom,â honoring the spirit of the 1956 revolution. This engaging, self-guided treasure hunt winds through Balatonlelleâs landmarks, with puzzles at each stop recalling those stirring days. Anyone who enjoys gamesâfamilies, school groups, or friendsâcan join in and earn a small prize at the end. Start anytime between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM from the Community Center (KözössĂ©gi HĂĄz); youâll receive a game sheet to fill out as you go. The route covers about 1.25 miles, and most finish in one or two hours. No charge and no registration required (though registering helps the organizers).
October 24: Kishegy AdventureâUltimate Fall Family Challenge
Journey to Kishegy for an autumn trek that blends movement, challenges, scenery, and treats! Choose a Nordic walking or Smovey tour led by experts (a limited number of gear sets are provided, but you can go without)âor hop on a mini train to the Kishegy Lookout Panorama Terrace (Kishegyi KilĂĄtĂł PanorĂĄma Terasz). At the summit, enjoy playful games and top off the experience with wine tasting and snacks. This all-in event is $2.75 per person and requires advance registration, as spots and equipment are limited. Perfect for families, groups of friends, retirees, or anyone eager to enjoy nature and good company.
October 25: The âPumpkin-perfectâ Family Run
Start your Saturday morning with a one-kilometer family fun run kicking off at 10 AM by the Outdoor Stage (SzabadtĂ©ri SzĂnpad). Thereâs no timer, no age limitâjust laughter, activity, and a medal for every finisher. Registration is required, but entry is free. Whether you trot, jog, or walk, bring the whole crew and enjoy a âPumpkin-perfectâ day.
Pumpkin Festival (TökfesztivĂĄl) in RĂĄdpusztaâA Magical Pumpkin Day
Next stop: the RĂĄdpuszta Gastronomy Experience Farm (RĂĄdpusztai Gasztro ĂlmĂ©nybirtok), hosting its vibrant Pumpkin Festival. Expect a pumpkin-carving contest, craft market, live music by LĂĄszlĂł MolnĂĄr, kidsâ face painting and balloon animals, pony rides, a petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides, and autumn flavors served in the thatched-roof tavern. Capture memories at the photo wall or simply bask in the colors and tastes of the season.
October 25: âPerfect Dayâ Free Family Festival at the Outdoor Stage
Balatonlelle is also searching for the tastiest dish, the cleverest pumpkin carver, and the sportiest family. Stop by for a day of food, music, games, a bustling market, and a whole lot of cheerful, communal fun.
October 26: RĂĄdpuszta Adventure WheelâFamily Fun Day Out
Hop on the mini train to RĂĄdpuszta for slides, crafts, pumpkin carving, a pirate ship bouncy castle, animals to pet, and discounted seasonal menus. The mini train departs at 10 AM from in front of the Garden Cinema (Kertmozi) and returns at 3 PM. Tickets are $2.75. Or, arrive by bike or car whenever you like and join the action. Preregistration is highly recommended, especially for train seats.
October 26: Outdoor MarketâFlea Finds & Treasures
Hunt for vintage gems and soak in the bustling bazaar atmosphere around the Outdoor Stage. It’s the place to discover rare curiosities and step back in time.
October 27: Tracing the Szalay FamilyâHistory at the Mansion
Uncover the secrets of one of Balatonlelleâs oldest noble families at the Szalay Mansion (now the Community Center). Find out how Marco the orangutan and Tuzla the bear fit into their story, and how winemaking and high society intertwined at the turn of the century. The walls here whisperâwith tales youâll encounter up close.
October 28: Wine HuntâCitywide Search with a Tasty Reward
Take on the Balatonlelle Wine Hunt as you and your friends scour the town for hidden envelopes at various sites. Snap a picture of each find, post it on Facebook tagging Visit Balatonlelle, and message it to the organizersâevery successful participant walks away with a bottle of local wine.
October 29: Torchlit Crypt Walk with Péter Kovåcs
Delve into legend under flickering torchlight on this evening tour of the local cemetery, guided by PĂ©ter KovĂĄcs. Youâll visit the Szalay family grave and uncover mysterious stories from Balatonlelleâs past. Meet outside the Community Center at 4 PM for a truly atmospheric experience.
October 30: Flashlight Hunt for Ghosts and Bats
Grab your flashlight and put on your best costume for a spooky night at Peace Park (Béke Park), which transforms into a full-on Halloween adventure park at 5 PM. Families and brave souls can expect an evening of chills, laughs, and monster hunting. Flashlights are a must!
October 30â31: Halloween Horror-Gastro Tour
Balatonlelleâs restaurants get a ghoulish makeover just in time for Halloween. Sample chillingly delicious bites and drinks with creative names, and join a foodie journey guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. Donât miss this savory, slightly scary autumn highlight.
October 31: Trick-or-TreatâBalatonlelle Edition
The town transforms for a costumed Halloween candy hunt: meet at 4:30 PM in the Community Center park, then walk together to the pier, with challenges and sweet prizes at every stop. All ages can participate, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is free, but registration is required.
October 31: Alice in WonderlandâA âK-Reemâ Halloween at MĂĄrton Confectionery
The MĂĄrton Confectionery (MĂĄrton CukrĂĄszda) hosts an Alice in Wonderlandâthemed bash with candy and chocolate giveaways all day from the storyâs White Rabbit. Look out for spooky sweets, pumpkin-spiced drinks, and appearances by Alice, the Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts. Sweet, surreal, and open to all!
