This fall, Festetics Palace and Fenékpuszta Manor are embracing their dark side for the bravest visitors. The scariest nights of the year are coming, and they’re not holding back on the spookiness.
Chilling Nights at Festetics Palace
On October 28th, 29th, and 30th, as night falls, strange echoing sounds fill the century-old halls of Festetics Palace. Shadowy figures rush down the corridors, and secrets from the past seem to come alive as the castle reveals its most mysterious side. Guided group tours (for those 14 and older) begin at 6:00 and 7:30 PM each night, with up to 25 people per group. Tickets can be purchased at the palace box office or online at Jegymester. Be prepared, because these are no ordinary castle nights—every turn might surprise you.
The Haunted Manor Experience
On October 31st—the official night of fright—Fenékpuszta Manor goes completely dark. The Little Castle (Kiskastély) transforms into a haunted house crawling with terrifying creatures, bats, and spiders stalking unsuspecting guests. If you dare to explore with just a small lantern, you might even encounter a real horse skeleton among the scares. Warm up afterward with a mug of pumpkin hot chocolate from the castle café. From 10 AM to 4 PM, kids can join creative workshops to carve and take home their own jack-o’-lanterns.
