Throughout the weekend, Ferenc Mádl Square (Mádl Ferenc tér) becomes the center of excitement, as both locals and tourists enjoy a burst of music, culture, and delicious wine tastings from local vineyards.
Fun for All Ages
On Saturday, family fun kicks off at the Tihany Open-Air Village Museum’s Wooden Games Park (Tihanyi Tájházak’s Fanyűvő Játékpark) from 11 am to 4 pm. Veronika Baricza (Baricza Veronika) provides musical vibes in Whitsun Grove (Pünkösdi liget), and the afternoon brings puppet shows and live music to the main square. The official opening at 7 pm features wine tastings, along with the announcement of winners for the Flowerful Tihany (Virágos Tihanyért) and Neat Tihany Homesteads (Rendezett Tihanyi Porta) competitions.
Sunday’s Spectacle: The Parade
Sunday offers a children’s concert, and then at 3 pm, crowds line the streets for the vibrant harvest parade. Joining in are hussars, outlaws, the Tihany Riding Club (Tihanyi Lovasklub), folk musicians, and flag-throwers. The celebration wraps up with the blessing of the grapes and bread, music from the Rita Polyák Band (Polyák Rita Band), and a dance party that keeps the festive spirit high all weekend long.
