Every August, Dunaújváros (Dunaújváros) transforms its main square into a festival ground for Hungary’s Foundation Day. In 2025, the three-day celebration takes place on August 16–17 and 20 at Town Hall Square (Városháza Square), inviting families to celebrate St. Stephen’s Day and the founding of the Hungarian state in style.
Unmissable Music for All Ages
The stage lights up with top Hungarian performers including Laci Gáspár (Gáspár Laci), Péter Rámek (Peter rámek), and Jimmy & Nika, promising an electric atmosphere. For kids, Clown Ricsi (Ricsi Bohóc) and Bing Bunny (Bing Nyuszi) keep little ones smiling with live shows and fun activities.
Food, Fun, and Handcrafted Gifts
The food promenade is overflowing with the best of Hungarian street eats—hot lángos, sweet chimney cake (kürtőskalács), hearty goulash (gulyás), and classic local dishes, all freshly made. Meanwhile, artisans display unique crafts in a bustling market, perfect for picking out special gifts.
Family Entertainment Extravaganza
Children’s concerts, hands-on workshops, and a lively funfair promise joyful memories for everyone. It’s the region’s largest free party—perfect for celebrating Hungary’s “birthday” with family and friends!
