Autumn turns to memory and movement
From October through December, Ismerős Arcok join “Home! House! Homeland!” (“Otthont! Házat! Hazát!”)—a dance-theater production commemorating the 70th anniversary of 1956. The narrative follows Attila Nyerges’s memories of October 1956, when, as a young boy, he fought alongside the “pesti srácok” (the boys of Pest) on the front lines of a rising revolution and war of independence. Amid the chaos, he falls in love with a revolutionary girl. His actions put him in danger, forcing him to flee the country and leave her behind to start anew abroad. Bearing the weight of that choice, he risks his freedom to return to Hungary in search of old friends and his love—by then, victims of the revolution. The piece asks: Did he choose life over death for the right reasons? Can he ever find happiness again—and forgive himself?
Told through dance by five performers, with spoken passages and Ismerős Arcok playing live, the show blends movement, memory, and music.

Friday, November 27, Kaposvár brings the story to the K-Center (K-Központ), Kossuth Lajos St. (Kossuth Lajos u.) 1–9, 7400 Kaposvár. The five dancers carry the narrative, with spoken fragments marking history’s hard edges.
