Budapest’s Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria) is rolling out Italian-language guided tours of its permanent collection this fall and winter, offering a fast track to Hungary’s greatest art legends. The first 60-minute tour runs on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 15:00 to 16:00 at 2 Szent György Square (Szent György tér 2.), with a second on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the same time. Meet at the Gallery’s Info Point; group size is capped at 17. The tour fee is 2,000 HUF, in addition to the permanent collection ticket, and tickets are sold at the museum’s ticket desk.

What You’ll See

Led entirely in Italian, the route jumps from the Middle Ages to today, spotlighting 19th- and 20th-century movements and artists who shaped Hungarian art. The December tour adds a playful promise: among the canvases, you might even bump into Dante—at least in spirit.
