The Jazz and Wine Festival returns to the Margaret Island (Margitsziget) Open-Air Theatre for its third edition, running from May 22 to 25. Four nights, one lush riverside stage, and a lineup built for long sips and late tunes—this is the capital’s easiest yes of spring.
Global voices, local groove
Two world-famous headliners bring the velvet: Italy’s deep-toned crooner Mario Biondi and the Grammy-winning jazz poet Kurt Elling. They’ll anchor the international side with sets tailored for sunset and beyond, pairing smooth phrasing with that festival-night electricity.
Hungarian bands turn up the charm
Homegrown heroes keep the pulse vivid. Attila László (László Attila) Fusion Circus blends virtuoso guitar work with modern fusion sparks. Budapest Ragtime Band rolls out swaggering swing and ragtime mischief. Easy Jazz Band locks into laid-back standards that go down as easy as the evening’s pours.
Perfect pairings on the island
Between concerts, wander the wine stands and taste curated selections. Whether you chase bold reds or crisp whites, the glass meets the groove—right where the Danube (Duna) breeze does the rest.
