The BábSzínTér Ensemble rolls back into Vaszary Park in Kaposvár with a packed spring lineup for kids, families, and schools. The puppet stage sets up at 7400 Kaposvár, 65–67 Fő Street, and the calendar blends ticketed school shows, open Sunday matinees, a traveling “PuppetMobile,” and regional stops through April and May 2026.
April: School Favorites Return
April spotlights Babszem Jankó from Ziránó Theatre (Ziránó Színház), a tried-and-true classroom hit. Two school subscription performances land on Tuesday, April 21 at 14:00 and Wednesday, April 22 at 14:00. Younger children get their turn with Bear Play (Medvejáték) from Márkus Theatre (MárkusZínház) on Monday, April 27, with performances at 09:00 and 11:00, and again on Tuesday, April 28 at 09:00 and 11:00, tailored for kindergartens.
May Sundays: Matinees for Families
Mother’s Day brings a double treat on Sunday, May 3: a Figurás play session at 10:00 followed by a puppet show at 11:00—The Sky-High Tree (Az égig érő fa) from Fabók Mancsi Puppet Theatre (Fabók Mancsi Bábszínháza). The following Sunday, May 10, the Family Matinee repeats the 10:00 playtime and 11:00 puppet rhythm, this time with If a Goose, Make It Fat! (Ha lúd, legyen kövér!) from Szigligeti Theatre – Lilliput Company (Szigligeti Színház – Lilliput Társulat).
Closed Lázár Ervin Program
From May 11 to May 15, the stage hosts a string of closed Lázár Ervin Program performances, all featuring János Pályi (Pályi János) in Vitéz László and the Cursed Mill (Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom). On the Road and Around Town

Back in Kaposvár, Márkus Theatre (MárkusZínház) presents The Wings of King Matthias (Mátyás király szárnyai) on Tuesday, May 19 at 14:00 for school subscribers.
Hands-on meets make-believe with the PuppetMobile—an exhibition and interactive play space—rolling into Nemzetőr Sori Branch Kindergarten (Nemzetőr Sori Tagóvoda) on Wednesday, May 27 at 10:00 and Tallián Street Branch Kindergarten (Tallián Utcai Tagóvoda) on Friday, May 29 at 10:00. The troupe also heads to Kadarkút on Thursday, May 28 at 10:00 for another Vitéz László and the Cursed Mill (Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom) by János Pályi (Pályi János).
