If you thought festivals were just for summer, think again—Kerekdomb Festival returns to Tállya (Tállya) from September 19-21, 2025, to prove otherwise. Nestled in the heart of the Tokaj Foothills (Tokaj-Hegyalja) scenic vineyards, Tállya (Tállya) transforms into a vibrant cultural hub for a weekend packed with concerts, literary events, theater, and, yes, a treasure trove of local wines.

Fall’s Finest Mix: Music, Wine, and Culture

Heading into its 10th edition, Kerekdomb Festival keeps the community spirit of festival season alive, even as the leaves begin to turn. The party leaves the waterfronts behind and moves into golden vineyards, where attendees can enjoy unforgettable concerts, lively wine tastings, and creative adventures before the cold sets in. This isn’t just another music festival—it’s a full-blown celebration of the senses, blending relaxed autumn vibes with lingering summer energy.

But Kerekdomb doesn’t just appeal to your mind and ears. Get ready for guided walks around the hills of Tállya (Tállya), paddling adventures on the Bodrog (Bodrog) River, scenic runs, and bike excursions. It’s a cultural recharge with a physical twist, all set against the backdrop of one of Hungary’s most charming towns.

Stages Alive with Top Hungarian Talent

The Main Stage at the Vincellér House (Vincellér Ház) is your ticket to Hungary’s musical elite. After a break, Elefánt returns with one of their first post-hiatus shows, joined by the energetic Analog Balaton. Saturday’s lineup features Szabó Balázs Bandája, Péterfy Bori & Love Band, and 30Y, while Sunday takes a theatrical turn as Anita Ábel (Ábel Anita) and Simon Szabó (Szabó Simon) perform Marital Relations (Házastársas) on a staged set.

Over at Palace Winery (Palota Borház), the younger crowd will find favorites like Sisi, Lil Frakk, Duckshell, Fiúk, and QJÚB, a music project led by Miklós Vecsei H. (Vecsei H. Miklós). The venue will also spotlight emerging artists from the Sound Occupation Program (Hangfoglaló Program), including Kisbetűs Ünnepnapok, CIBI, and WXLFESS.

Sunday at Szűcs Winery (Szűcs Pincészet) wraps up with Áron András, but not before electrifying sets from Jazzbois, Sena Dagadub, Swim Swim Naked, Palo Canto, Kale Lulugyi, Gently Da Spittah, and Slovakian band Goodworld (Jóvilágvan). Feeling mellow? Head to Owl Castle (Bagolyvár) for intimate performances by Libido, Ádám Beretka (Beretka Ádám), Józsi Hegedűs (Hegedűs Józsi), egy5egy, and Géem. Nyerges Courtyard (Nyerges Udvar) offers a similar cozy atmosphere, hosting Zsófi Kemény (Kemény Zsófi) and Edina Szirtes (Szirtes Edina), as well as haidubianka, Villő and the Cool (Villő és a Hűvös), Myrstus Acoustic (Myrstus Akusztik), and Nosnach!.

Art, Cinema, and Cross-Border Culture

Beyond concerts, Mailloth Castle (Mailloth Kastély) opens its doors for a whirlwind of programs. Take part in charity wine tastings, catch films from the Malter Wandering Film Festival (Malter Vándor Film Festival), or explore exhibitions in the Slovak-Hungarian corner. There are lively discussions on Generation Z’s cultural habits, and screenings of On Body and Soul (Testről és Lélekről) followed by engaging conversations. Thanks to the Kisprojekt Fund and Interreg, Kerekdomb even collaborates with Slovakia’s Gombaszög Summer Camp (Gombaszög Nyári Tábor), sparking vibrant cultural exchanges.

On the castle’s second floor, a digital art expo runs all weekend, with panels exploring topics like digital spaces and artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, activities for kids—shadow theater, musical sessions, and plays—ensure little ones aren’t left out.

Hands-On Fun and Literary Delights

The Creative House (Alkotóház) is all about play and artistic exploration, with craftspeople demonstrating their trades. Tokaj Art Wine Barka Gallery (Tokaj Art Wine Barka Galéria) features more music and words, including the “Nothing and Infinity” exhibition and joint shows by Boglárka Csemer Boggie, Zsófi Kemény (Kemény Zsófi), and Anna Juhász. János Ávéd (Ávéd János) and Miklós Vecsei H. (Vecsei H. Miklós) reinterpret András Visky’s Deportation (Kitelepítés), while Szonja Oroszlán and Steve Hajdu bring Song-Poems (Dalversek) to life.

Townwide Transformation and Ticket Details

During the festival weekend, all of Tállya (Tállya) joins the celebration. The Evangelical Church (Evangélikus Templom) hosts classical concerts, including a gala by the University of Miskolc Faculty of Music (Miskolci Egyetem Zeneművészeti Kara). The Community House (Közösségi Ház) becomes a theater: catch Trepp Theatre’s Prettier Than Ilona (Szebb, mint Ilona), see playwright János Háy, and watch Nick Hornby’s Boob-Christ (Cicikrisztus) performed by RS9 Theatre (RS9 Színház).

No proper festival here would be complete without culinary pleasures—sip and savor your way through Devabor, T3 Winery (T3 Borászat), Somszög Estate (Somszög Birtok), Rose Winery (Rózsa Pincészet), Dudovics Winery (Dudovics Pincészet), Próbakert Home Restaurant, Lindengarten Gastro Gate (Lindengarten Gastro Porta), and the rest of the “wine passport” destinations.
