Keszthely is filling its late May and early June calendar with guided nature trips, lake cruises, outdoor games, stand-up, jazz, classical theater, and a full-blown City Day weekend that floods the center with concerts, exhibitions, parades, and family fun. Here’s what to catch from May 18 through June 7 across multiple venues in and around the town and the shores of Lake Balaton.
Nature, water, and outdoor game days
From May 19–24 and again May 26–31, the Kis-Balaton Visitor Center runs guided excursions to Diás Island’s István Fekete Memorial and the Matula hut, beloved settings from the Hungarian classic Thorns and Twigs (Tüskevár). Get there by your own vehicle, hop on a golf cart, or paddle in by canoe—your call. At the same time, Keszthely’s lake cruises glide daily across the bay from May 18–24 and again May 25–31, with another wave June 1–5. Looking for something playful? The outdoor city sightseeing adventure game runs May 18–24 and May 25–31, then returns June 1–7, turning Keszthely’s landmarks into a team-friendly puzzle trail.
