Keszthely rolls out a packed spring-into-summer calendar for 2026, spread across the Balaton waterfront, Balaton Theatre (Balaton Színház), and the Little Balaton Visitor Centre (Kis-Balaton Látogatóközpont). Expect concerts, theatre, guided nature trips, child-friendly adventures, pop-up markets, boat cruises, and hands-on craft shows. Below is your week-by-week snapshot from late April through June, with highlights, times, and ticket info where available. Prices converted to USD.
May Day on the Shore
May 1 brings FRESH in concert at 19:00 under the Music Pavilion on the Balaton waterfront. The same weekend, May 1–2, the Balaton Season Opener (Balatoni Évadnyitó) energizes the promenade with family and kids’ programs, live music, a bubbly street ball, stalls, and a deep bench of festival food. A detailed schedule drops soon, but the atmosphere’s guaranteed: Balaton wakes up, and Keszthely is the soundtrack.
Guided Nature Trips and Lake Cruises
From May 1–3, and again May 5–10, May 12–17, May 19–24, May 26–31, June 2–7, June 9–14, June 16–21, and June 23–28, the Little Balaton Visitor Centre runs expert-led excursions to Diás Island’s István Fekete Memorial (Fekete István Emlékhely) and the Matula Hut by private vehicle, golf cart, or on the water by canoe. Meanwhile, Keszthely panorama cruises (Keszthelyi sétahajózás) and weekend boat trips (hajókirándulás) recur across May and June—perfect for breezy golden hours on the water.
Open-Air Game Adventures
From April 27–May 3, then in weekly slots through mid-June, two outdoor self-guided city games turn sightseeing into a story-driven hunt through Keszthely’s landmarks. Bring friends, charge your phone, and let playful puzzles lead the way.
