Highlights: a section on Janus Pannonius and Italy; Siena’s Palio race symbols; the story of St. Mark’s Square in Venice; performances by students from the György Festetics Art School (Festetics György); a Luca Balduccio segment; and an Italia Quiz with results announced at 9:00 PM.
Tolkien Days: Elvish Writing, Choirs, and a Lantern March
From July 3 to 5, the Castle Garden (Várkert) becomes Middle‑earth. Saturday adds the society choir at 6:30 PM and the signature Elven March at 9:00 PM—join in costume with an LED candle or grab a torch and parade from the Castle Garden to the pier via Helikon Street and Helikon Park, where the elves symbolically set sail on Lake Balaton.
