A year-round playground for families, the Goldmark Károly Cultural Center in Keszthely rolls out a bright, creative, dance-filled lineup that starts with a crafty year-end party and continues with weekly sessions for the tiniest audiences.
Dec 29: New Year’s Playhouse + Csángó Dance Night
On Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., the Folk Tale Point (Népmesepont) inside the Goldmark Károly Cultural Center turns into a cheerful, hands-on New Year’s playhouse for kids and grown-ups alike. The theme: luck, joy, and a fresh start. The motto “Have your own lucky pig!” sets the tone as families craft good-luck symbols—especially the traditional pig—along with other New Year’s charms to usher in abundance and smiles for 2026.
Once the glue dries, the party keeps going with a Csángó Dance House (Csángó táncház). The Re-Folk and ÉgenFöld bands lead a classic dance house and bring-your-own-basket ball—expect live folk tunes, easy-to-join dances, and that warm, communal energy Csángó nights are known for. Come to create, then stay to dance your way into the new year.
Wednesdays: “Kerekítő Nursery Rhymes” (Kerekítő Mondókázó) For Ages 0–3

Led by Attila Zólyomi, these mornings offer rhythm, rhyme, and bonding through movement and music.

Why It Works For Families
The New Year’s playhouse doubles as a hands-on art workshop and a cultural primer, using traditional symbols of luck to spark creativity and conversation. It’s kid-friendly without talking down to anyone, and it smoothly transitions into a live-music dance house that invites families to share a floor and a rhythm. The Wednesday “Kerekítő Nursery Rhymes” sessions create a weekly ritual: gentle puppetry, instruments, and folk rhymes that nurture language, coordination, and connection in the early years. With the Great Hall as a regular, familiar venue and a fixed 9:30 a.m. start, the routine is easy to slot into nap schedules and school runs.
Plan Ahead
Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs, so check for updates before you head out. Bring your curiosity to craft your lucky charms on Dec 29, and soft shoes for the Csángó dances. For Wednesdays, arrive a little early for stroller parking and to settle in—then let the rhymes and rhythms work their magic.
