Thomas Bernhard’s play A színházcsináló (The Theater-Maker) hits the Balaton Theater’s main hall on April 10, 2026, at 7 PM. Produced by Orlai Produkció, every ticket is snapped up—it’s the second show in the 2026 Spring Season Pass. Bruscon, played by National Actor Alföldi Róbert, rolls into town with his small troupe for a guest performance. But everything annoys him at this new spot, and the show’s about to start in just hours. The often-called radically pessimistic Thomas Bernhard (1931-1989) was one of his era’s top writers, always at odds with his homeland. Through his obsessive stage heroes, he unleashes epic rants against Austria’s absurd conditions and the ridiculousness of modern human existence.
