Keszthely packs the calendar across multiple venues in 2026–2027 with festivals, exhibitions, theater, film screenings, museum workshops, food and drink events, sports, and plenty of guaranteed and optional leisure programs. Tickets range roughly from $7.75 to $50.75. Boat trips, guided nature excursions, city adventure games, kids’ activities, summer arts camps, and major concerts light up the season on Lake Balaton’s western shore.
Nature and Lake Adventures
All summer long, Keszthely offers classic boat trips on Lake Balaton, running weekly in July and August. Families can also hop aboard dedicated Children’s Boat programs featuring pirates and magicians, treasure hunts, magic, games, and cheerful onboard antics on July 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31, and August 5, 7, 12, and 14. Nightlife hits the water too: Party Boat disco cruises depart from the Keszthely Pier on July 17, 24, 31, and August 14.
Just south, the Small-Balaton (Kis-Balaton) Visitor Center leads guided trips to Diás Island, the István Fekete Memorial (Fekete István Emlékhely), and the Matula Hut—reached by one’s own car, golf cart, or by water in canoes. These run July 7–12, July 14–19, July 21–26, July 28–August 2, August 4–9, and August 11–16, offering a close-up of protected wetlands, literary heritage, and serene backwaters.
