Hands-on camps and creative mornings
From July 6–10, the Summer Break – Pottery Wheel Camp runs 9:00–12:00 at the Pottery Workshop (Fazekas Műhely), Lehel u. 2. Kids learn wheel-throwing rooted in Hungarian folk forms, practice techniques, and soak up the joy of making. All materials and tools are provided; min. 10 and max. 15 participants. City quests and lake escapes
July 6–12 brings an outdoor urban sightseeing adventure game loaded with puzzles and Keszthely landmarks, plus daily Keszthely boat trips on Lake Balaton. On July 7–12, guided tours from the Little Balaton Visitor Center (Kis-Balaton Látogatóközpont) head to Diás Island’s István Fekete Memorial and the Matula hut by your own vehicle, golf cart, or canoe. For families, July 8 and 10 feature Kids’ Boat programs with pirates, magicians, treasure hunts, and magic on deck.
Nights on the water
Party Boat Keszthely launches disco nights from the Boat Station (Hajóállomás) on July 10, with more sail-and-dance dates set for July 17, 24, 31, and August 7 and 14.
Art opening and candlelit classics
On July 11 at 17:00, the Balaton Theatre’s Simándy Hall opens Fesztelen festmények (Uninhibited Paintings), a free exhibition by painter Panni Bajzikné, presented by the Goldmark Károly Cultural Center with the Bethlen Gábor Pensioners’ Club’s Csillagfürt Choir. The show runs July 11–August 6. The same evening, Castles by Candlelight | THE FOUR SEASONS (Kastélyok gyertyafényben | A NÉGY ÉVSZAK) glows inside the Festetics Palace, with tickets from $24.16 to $37.58.
More kids’ art, more drawings
July 13–17, Summer Break – Craft Workshop (GKMK, Kisklub, 9:00–12:00) decorates canvas totes, strings bracelets with beads and minerals, explores decoupage, and even makes a board game. Theater highlights
On July 14 at 19:00, the Pannon Castle Theatre (Pannon Várszínház) stages The Paul Street Boys (A Pál utcai fiúk) at the Balaton Theatre. This musical take amps up the timeless clashes of youth with modern sounds and a large ensemble, directed by László Vándorfi. Tickets: 10,000 HUF (about $26.85). July 21 brings Steel Magnolias (Acélmagnóliák) by Veres 1 Theatre (Veres 1 Színház).
Beer, boats and bandstands
From July 15–19, the 11th Keszthely Beer Festival pours across town. Kids’ Boat adventures return July 15 and 17. Cruises and outdoor adventure games keep spinning July 13–19 and July 20–26.
Enamel art week and wine celebration
July 27–31 offers two Summer Break – Enameling Camps at GKMK Folk Tale Point (NépmesePont): mornings 9:00–12:00 for ages 8–12; afternoons 13:00–16:00 for 12+. Learn the colors and basics of enamel, and make small objects and jewelry with instructor Eszter Pintér. Fee: 19,000 HUF + 3,500 HUF materials (about $51.05 + $9.40). July 29–August 2, Zala Wine Sign 2026 – Keszthely Wine Festival (Zalai Borcégér 2026) lines the Balaton promenade, championing Zala and Hungarian wines over five festive days.
Concerts in the palace park
On July 26, the Festetics Palace Park hosts KULT/SZÍN/TÉR – Csilla Szentpéteri & Band with The Aerialist and Me concert show. Classical-crossover meets summer-night spectacle.
August ramps up

On August 4 at 19:00, We Never Die (Sose halunk meg) becomes a musical at the Balaton Theatre, with music by László Dés and direction by László Vándorfi. András Koscsisák leads a big cast through a live-theater reimagining of Róbert Koltai’s classic film world. Duration: 150 minutes with one interval. Tickets: 9,000 HUF (about $24.16).
August on the water, August in lights

Summer-closing concert series
From August 10–16, the outdoor city game and Keszthely cruises are back, with guided Little Balaton (Kis-Balaton) excursions August 11–16. The season climaxes with three massive nights at Keszthely City Sports Ground (Keszthely Városi Sporttelep). First up, August 17 at 20:30, Tamás Horváth headlines a grand show with openers and DJs from 17:00, plus an afterparty. Standing $21.20, VIP terrace $80.50. On August 18 at 20:30, MAJKA storms in with the BINDZSISZTÁN Tour 2026; standing $26.60, VIP terrace $134.10. The third night, August 19, closes with Beton.Hofi’s big show.
