KiddieTime is a new Wednesday series at the Óbuda Synagogue that blends music, learning, drama, and Krav Maga to help children explore Jewish traditions. Designed for ages 3–10 and their parents, it turns late afternoons into shared, experience-based fun from 4:30–6:00 p.m. at 163 Lajos Street, 1036 Budapest. Sessions are free but require registration.
Music, Stories, Movement
Each event unfolds in three parts. First, families dive into a musical warm-up with Hebrew songs, prayers, and holiday melodies—the easiest way for little ones to catch the rhythm of the calendar. Next, the weekly Torah portion comes alive through drama pedagogy. Guided by a drama educator, kids role-play, create, and play their way into the stories, turning big ideas into hands-on discoveries. The finale gets hearts pumping: a Krav Maga class led by a coach with experience from Israel, focusing not just on movement but also on building confidence, discipline, and community spirit.
Who’s Running the Show
The program lead is Zsuzsa Szilánk, head of education at EMIH; programming is overseen by Miri Radó, with Jewish content curated by Petra Nagy.
