2025. November 10, Monday, 2:00 PM — Imre Kálmán Cultural Center, Theater Hall. Ágnes Balázs: Csodálatos Andersen (Wonderful Andersen), a 75-minute musical fairy tale by Fellegjárók Társulat, part of the Csimota season ticket. A heartfelt pick for children six and up, for both lower and upper grades. The twist: writer Ágnes Balázs not only retells several beloved Hans Christian Andersen stories, she also weaves in the birth of Andersen’s own storybook, capturing the delicate beauty of the Andersen spirit with unusual sensitivity.

On a harsh, stormy day, an orphaned girl wanders into Andersen’s meager basement room. Little Gerda is enchanted by a puppet theater where four figures stand lonely. Brought to life, the Lead Soldier, the Dancer, Zsófi the rag doll, and Ole the elf give her a mission: hug the Snow Queen so the ice in people’s hearts can thaw and a happier, kinder world can arrive.

This tale revisits familiar Andersen classics while tracing how a world-famous Dane, dreaming first of being an actor and then a playwright, found true success and a kind of immortality in fairy tales. Ágnes Balázs shows the grace of that inner world, while the melodies and catchy tunes promise real escape for kids and adults alike. Fellegjárók Társulat presents it with a sharp cast and top-notch creators for a carefree, joy-forward show.
