Budapest’s Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria) is turning Wednesdays into playtime with a weekly creative club for kids. Each month brings a fresh theme and hands-on projects that roam the museum, mixing art, stories, and make-believe in the most fun way possible.
November: Theater Invades the Gallery
On November 5, 12, 19, and 26, 4:00–5:00 p.m., the gallery becomes a stage. Children step inside artworks and try on roles, write mini-scripts, act them out, and craft the essentials of theater: masks, puppets, headpieces, and even set designs. One week you’re a king or queen, the next a farmhand or a goose girl—remember, it’s all a game.
How It Works
Kids ages 6–12 attend on their own; after the session, staff escort the group back to the info desk between 5:30–5:40 p.m. Meet at the information desk, 2 Szent György Square (Szent György tér 2). Max group size: 15. Single session: $6.90. Monthly pass: four sessions for $23.30 (instead of $27.90). Each workshop stands alone—join any date in Budapest on 11/05, 11/12, 11/19, or 11/26.
