Kistarcsa lines up a full year of community life across multiple venues, welcoming families, kids, teens, and adults with cultural programs, festivals, workshops, markets, and easygoing fun. Dates and details may change, but the calendar is packed—and very local.
May highlights
May 16, Saturday, 1:00–6:00 PM: Blood donation at the Csigaház, part of the 29th Kistarcsa Days (Kistarcsai Napok). The city leans into civic spirit with a steady pulse of health and service events.
May 21: Erika Szűcsné Göblyös unpacks Children’s Massage through the lens of polyvagal theory. This gentle, touch-based method supports children’s physical and emotional development, eases stress, improves sleep, strengthens parent–child bonds, boosts mobility, and soothes the nervous system.
May 28: Tamás Rist on the Budapest–Bamako Rally. With Mali unstable, the finish moved to Freetown, Sierra Leone. The route stretches over 5,592 miles, and African road conditions make progress anything but simple.
May 31: Heroes’ Day and Children’s Day share the spotlight—remembrance and play colliding in one community Sunday.
June deep dives
June 4: László Nagy on the events of Trianon. Signed on June 4, 1920, at the Grand Trianon in Versailles, the treaty amputated roughly two-thirds of historic Hungary’s territory, forcing settlements with Czechoslovak, Serbian, and Romanian forces occupying Upper Hungary (Felvidék), Transylvania (Erdély), and the Southern Regions (Délvidék).
June 5: Commemoration of Miklós Király.
June 11: Erzsébet Pancsor on the Blue Trail (Kéktúra). Not age-bound or time-limited: from the first stamp, it can be completed over a lifetime. It’s not an extreme trek—anyone can walk it with sensible gear and enjoy stunning, memory-making views.
June 18: Ildikó Obsitos on Wine Jam. Enjoy the aroma and flavor of wine—without alcohol. Ideal for non-drinkers and wine lovers alike. Made like traditional jam, but from wine instead of fruit.
June 20–21: Kistarcsa artisans’ exhibition showcases local craft talent.
June 25: Ágnes Kóczián: The Many Faces of Peru—three weeks across Lima, Cusco, and Iquitos, from Inca heritage to Amazonian jungle stories.
Autumn to year’s end
September 14–20: KIKE Cultural Week anchors the season, with the Potato Dumpling Festival (Görhöny Fesztivál) and Heritage Walk adding local flavor.
October 10: National Evening gathers history, culture, and community.
October 23–25: Exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of the revolution.
November 8: Falling Leaf brings a reflective note to late autumn.
December 28: World War II commemoration closes the year with remembrance.
