April’s Packed Lineup
Kick off April 7-10 with free spring craft workshops for disadvantaged local kids and youth at DeĂĄk F. Ășt 1âregister in advance. IT courses for over-65s take place at CsigahĂĄz on the 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, and 24th. Catch free DeĂĄktanya talks open to everyone: CsapĂł Beatrix on GödöllĆ’s social garden (9th), Tillmann Kinga on backpacking in South America (16th), TelekinĂ© KovĂĄcs Ăgnes on King Matthias’s corvinas (23rd), and Kardos Ferenc sharing child protection stories (30th)âjoin the Kistarcsai Cultural Association too. More highlights: local history walk at the cemetery (11th), Baby-Mama Book Club at the city library (13th), Retro Quiz Night at CsigahĂĄz (17th), painters’ exhibition (18th-19th), and a wine tour (25th).
May Highlights
Lakatos LĂĄszlĂł’s solo show Megjöttem (I’m Back), with opening act Oliver Wolf, rocks DumaszĂnhĂĄz at CsigahĂĄz on May 8thâtickets $21. Unveiling of the birth stool on May 10th. DeĂĄktanya adds SzotĂĄk Attila on Klebelsberg KunĂł’s ministry (7th), BödĆk Gergely on the Transylvanian hound (14th), SzĂŒcsnĂ© Göblyös Erika on child massage (21st), and Rist TamĂĄs recapping the Budapest-Bamako rally (28th). Kistarcsai Napok (Kistarcsa Days) exhibitions open May 22nd and run through the 24th. Heroes’ Day caps the month on the 31st.
Summer and Beyond
June brings a memorial for MiklĂłs KirĂĄly (5th) and a craftsmenâs exhibition (20th-21st). September’s KIKE Cultural Week (14th-20th) includes the Görhöny Festival (GörhönyfesztivĂĄl) and heritage walk. October features National Evening (10th) and an exhibition on the 70th anniversary of the revolution (23rd-25th). November has HullĂł FalevĂ©l (Falling Leaves) (8th), and December a World War II memorial (28th).
