Step into a wild medieval adventure at Knights’ Day in Székesfehérvár (Stuhlweißenburg) on August 16, 2025. The city transforms into a vibrant time machine, where the royal giant puppet family holds court, knights battle for honor, musicians play, masters practice their crafts, and the bustling market comes alive with rowdy vendors, mischief-makers, and mysterious witches who offer glimpses into the future.

All-Day Attractions & Tournaments

Starting at 10 a.m., the spectacle begins with a flag-raising ceremony in Town Hall Square (Városház Square). Throughout the day, crafters, jugglers, and musicians fill the Medieval Crafts Street, recreating an authentic marketplace atmosphere where visitors are encouraged to join in the fun and experience the life of common folk.

Families can test their wits and luck with stone-breaking games, medieval matchmaking cards, and logic puzzles, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Memorial – Medieval Ruin Garden, accompanied by live medieval music from Keleti Szél (Ventus Eurus). Sword enthusiasts can get their fix from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the Ars Ensis interactive sword fighting demonstrations; bold guests can handle real weapons and even try fencing lessons.

Live Parades, Dueling & Drama

At 12:45 p.m., discover the city’s coat of arms with heraldry expert József Szászi. Then, just after 1:30 p.m., massive knight puppets join the grand parade along Várkörút (Castle Boulevard), ending at Stephen I’s (Szent István) tomb, where knights pledge their oaths.

Witness intense full-contact battles in the Buhurt Pro Fight and the Third Saint Stephen (Szent István) Tournament, followed by the crowning of the champion and a festive flag-lowering ceremony. Cap off the night at 9 p.m. with a free, registration-only medieval mystery play for fathers and sons in the courtyard of the King Stephen Museum (Szent István Király Museum).

Organizers note that schedules and programs may change—so stay alert, brave guests!
