Kocs comes alive July 10–11 with the 26th International Cart-Pushing Competition and Festival, honoring the 15th-century innovation and the master wheelwrights who built the village’s legend. The main spectacle: a cart‑pushing showdown across multiple categories around the Community Center (Faluház) and its surroundings in postal code 2898.
Friday Highlights
From 14:00 to 18:00, locals cook together while the National Hungarian Hunters’ Chamber offers shooting simulators and archery. A volunteer patrol KRESZ traffic park is open 14:00–20:00. From 15:00, Kádár Ferkó’s photo theater springs to life, alongside a kids’ paradise with an adventure park, bouncy castle, obstacle course, climbing wall, and carousel until 20:00. Viktória Hamza presents “In the Language of Horses” at 15:45. Folk dance by the Aranykocsi troupe, Zumba, and the Zelina majorettes at 16:30; exhibition opening at 17:00; foam party 17:00–17:30. Then Wireless Heart, Ricsi Herczog, Nóra Bányoczky, Ákos Csordás, and János Ondrik take the stage, with DJ Bóli & Feri Valaskó bracketing Nótár Mary’s 22:00–22:30 set until 02:00.
Saturday Showdown
Dawn brings an 08:00 fishing contest, a 10:00 kids’ run, and Tradotto from 12:00–21:00. The opening and raffle begin at 13:30, with craft demos 13:00–18:00 and Grandma’s cakes at the Folk House 14:00–19:00. The KRESZ traffic park returns 14:00–20:00. From 15:00–19:00: the cart‑pushing competition; Szarkaláb archery and traditional wooden games; plus bouncy fun and Europe Direct learning with KEMKIK until 20:00. At 16:00, a musical journey through animated films by Tímea Kecskés and Dávid Sándor. Galambos “Lajcsi” and band play 17:30–18:30; results at 19:00. The night belongs to DJ Deka & Miss Chrisstin (21:00–23:30), Groovehouse (23:30–00:30), and DJ Niki Belucci (00:30–02:30). Organizers may change times and programs.
