Lajosmizse is gearing up for a packed 2026 with concerts, comedy, theater, film, fairs, crafts, and hands-on workshops—most of it centered around the City Cultural Center and Library at 6050 Lajosmizse, Szabadság tér (Liberty Square) 12. From spring to winter, the town blends outdoor evenings and live shows with markets and family-friendly programs, inviting locals and visitors for everything from chamber music to horse-drawn winter experiences on the nearby plains.
April: Talks, Games, Music, and Film
It starts on April 23 with Dr. Imre Csernus’s evening, Burnout or New Challenges, in Lajosmizse. Tickets run about 15.90 USD. The next day doubles up: a Board Game Club session and a free chamber concert by the Anima Musicae Ensemble on April 24. Also on April 24, comedian Dániel Mogács brings EGO, with mic check by Viktor Feiszt, hosted by Dumaszínház at the City Cultural Center and Library—tickets roughly 16.20–19.20 USD.

From May 1–3, See and Draw! runs a three-day right- and left-brain sketching course. On May 3, the National Animal and Flea Market returns to Lajosmizse, a recurring staple throughout the year. May 9 is busy: a ceramics workshop; the concert Invisible Love by Szilvia Agárdi, tickets around 9.40 USD; and the 16th Grillázs and Gingerbread May Day, a sweet-toothed celebration blending confectionery art and tradition.
On May 11, Prof. Dr. Emőke Bagdy speaks on The New World of Stress Management and Mental Balance, tickets about 12.10 USD. May 16 hosts the 3rd Red Cars Meet, another enameling workshop, and the Strawberry Fair Hustle, a fruit-forward market day. On May 20, Mi bajunk lehet? (What Could Go Wrong?)—a joint night by Fruzsina Ács and Balázs Máté Szabó—lands at Dumaszínház in the Cultural Center, with tickets between 18.40 USD and 20.60 USD.
Family theater takes the stage on May 23 with MICIMACKÓ – avagy a Csacsi Öreg Medvém kalandjai (Winnie-the-Pooh – Adventures of My Silly Old Bear) at the Cultural Center theater, tickets about 5.60 USD. The Drámázni ér Társulat’s Dabas group unveils its newest production of Abigél: The Musical, first on June 14 and again on June 20, bringing a beloved Hungarian story to life on local stages.
Summer Camps and Town Days
Summer also means hands-on creativity: Magic Hands craft camps run July 13–17 and July 27–31. The National Animal and Flea Market hits July 5 and August 2 and 30, with another edition on September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6. The town’s signature celebration, the 33rd Lajosmizse Days, arrives August 28–29, promising music, community, and tradition across two late-summer days.
Winter Notes and Big Stories
December 4 features TVRTKO – Chernobyl 40, a high-profile talk marking the disaster’s legacy, with tickets around 21.30 USD. The final National Animal and Flea Market of the year comes on December 6, a last chance to browse, trade, and meet before year’s end.
